Compliance in the Digital Era - Executive Breakfast by Unipartner

Complying with legislation is crucial for organizations, as it not only ensures legal adherence but also fosters trust and credibility with clients and stakeholders

In the era of AI, where data breaches and cyber threats are increasing, adherence to regulations by the European Union like the NIS 2 Directive, GDPR and the AI Act is essential for protecting sensitive information, maintaining operational integrity and ensuring people’s safety and fundamental rights. 🔒

Unipartner’s Executive Breakfast “Compliance in the Digital Era” was a success and we’re already looking forward to what is next to come! Covering a wide range of topics, our speakers provided valuable insights on cybersecurity, GDPR, NIS 2 Directive, and the future of data privacy in an era where Artificial Intelligence is becoming more prominent. Our event highlighted the consequences organizations can face if they are not compliant while also offering a roadmap for how they can minimize these risks while safeguarding data integrity and stakeholder trust! 💡

With the new NIS 2 Directive in effect, organizations have a renewed responsibility to enhance their cybersecurity practices to build a more resilient digital ecosystem. This means prioritizing risk management processes and continuously adapting to counter emerging threats. AI is transforming industries but also introduces new privacy and compliance challenges, with organizations having to focus on designing AI systems that respect user privacy and comply with data protection standards. As AI evolves, it is important that organizations balance innovation with responsibility, implementing robust security measures to maintain trust and transparency. 🌐

We’d like to thank our recognized expert speakers António Gameiro Marques (National Security Office), Martin Freitas (Regional Government of Madeira), Alexandre Sousa Pinheiro (PhD in Public Law and Data Protection), Madalena Battaglia (Microsoft), Luis Simões (Unipartner), Paulo Cancela (Unipartner) and Cristina Coelho (Unipartner).

During the morning, attendees from 16 organizations were able to gain insights from these new regulations, the challenges that organizations face and how they can adapt to them, by implementing processes and tools.

Let’s continue to work towards prioritizing compliance to create trust, resilience, and competitive advantage in the digital era. 🚀
